Edgar Earl Bryner of Burleson, Tx., passed away on August 21, 2023 at the age of 73. Earl was born in Connellsville, Pa., on July 24, 1950, the son of Clifford Bryner & Barbara Rowan Bryner.
Earl grew up in Markleysburg, Pa., & graduated from Uniontown Area High School in 1969. Following high school graduation, Earl attended nursing school in Uniontown, Pa., at Uniontown Hospital School of Nursing. In nursing school, Earl met his future wife. He & Michele Shanaberger were married in Carmichaels, Pa., at the United Methodist Church on June 9, 1972.
In 1973, Earl was commissioned as an officer in the United States Air Force & served 20 years, retiring with the rank of Lt Colonel. He was stationed at numerous locations including Andrews AFB, Md.; Udorn AFB, Thailand; Lackland AFB, Tx.; Travis AFB, Ca.; Tyndall AFB, Fl.; & Lajes Field, the Azores, Portugal. Earl continued his education while in the Air Force graduating from the Air Force Anesthesia Program, Southern Illinois University (BS), & Troy State University (Masters). Decorations include Meritorious Service Medal, AF Commendation Medal, AF Outstanding Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Services Expeditionary Medal, AF Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, AF Overseas Long Tour Ribbon, AF Longevity Service Award, AF Reserve Medal, Small Arms Marksmanship Ribbon, AF Training Ribbon.
Following his military retirement in 1993, Earl & family moved to north Texas where he worked as a nurse anesthetist at numerous places including, Texas Wesleyan University, Harris Methodist Fort Worth Hospital, Plaza Medical Center, Huguley Memorial Hospital, & Cleburne Surgery Center. Earl retired in 2018.
Earl is preceded in death by his parents & grandparents.
Survivors include his spouse, Michele Bryner (Burleson, Tx.); son Jeffrey Bryner & wife Delta (Colorado Springs, Co.); son Gregory Bryner & wife Whitney (Burleson, Tx.); granddaughters Kaylyn Bryner (Arlington, Tx.), Cheyanne Bryant (Burleson, Tx.), Channing Bryner (Burleson, Tx.), & Zoey Bryner (Colorado Springs, Co.); grandson Cayden Bryner (Burleson, Tx.); brother Dennis Bryner & wife Brenda (Davenport, Fl.); sister Wonetta Miller & husband Jim (Tiffin, Ohio); aunt Mary Louise Glotfelty & husband Ron (Romulus, Mi.); aunt Carolyn Rowan (Connellsville, Pa.); numerous cousins, nieces & nephews; & the couple's dog Snickers.
