Estelle was born on April 18, 1923, in Bennington, Okla., to Andrew Clarence and Alice Velma Shults Sexton. She spent her younger years in Ardmore, Okla., playing guard for Plainview High School's basketball team. Estelle met her husband in Fort Worth where she worked at G.D., now Lockheed, and prided herself as being one of the original Rosie the Riveters during the World War II era. After marriage and raising two children, she went to work at Ballard Nursing Registry where she spent many years of service taking care of terminally ill patients. Her husband was one of her patients as well; she lovingly devoted countless hours to his care during his lengthy illness.
She has been reunited in heaven with her parents; husband of 45 years, Donald A. Nelson; son, Donald W. Nelson; sisters, Mildred Price, Mary Lou Sexton; and brother, Billy Joe Sexton.
Survivors: Those left to cherish her memory are daughter, Donna C Pitt and husband, Ron Pitt; Estelle's pride and joy, also known as her grandson, Alex Nilsson Pitt; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many extended family and friends.
