Elaine Marie Hargis

Elaine was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 6th, 1945 to parents James and Jane Sears. She graduated from Allen Park High School and received her bachelor's degree from Evangel College.

She married Joe Hargis on August 26, 1967 in Allen Park, Michigan. Elaine had a rewarding and impactful career in education for the Springfield, MO public school district. She was a proud member of Gateway Church and had a passion for prayer and reading.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents James and Jane Sears and her sister Beverly Sears.

Elaine is survived by Joe Hargis, her loving husband of 57 years, daughter Cherilyn Jones (Jason), grandchildren; Kim, Billy, Joseph, Alison, Abby, Rebecca, Christopher, and Hannah Jones, Malachi, McKenna, Mackaden and Drake Pyle and Micah and Josiah Garrett, great grandson Justin Jones, and her brother Larry Sears (Vicki).

A Celebration of Life for Elaine will be held Friday, January 31, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Laurel Land Funeral Home of Fort Worth, 7100 CROWLEY RD, FORT WORTH, TX 76134. Family requests casual dress attire, and please consider wearing pink in honor of breast cancer awareness.
