

Elsie Betty Stepan, 91, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at her home. Elsie was born on January 16, 1929 to Louis and Angeline Malatek. She married Alvin F. Stepan, Sr. on June 23, 1949.
Elsie was born on the family farm in Gonzales County Texas, as the oldest of four girls. She graduated from Gonzales High School in 1947 and worked as a telephone operator. She loved to listen and to dance to Czech Polka music. Also, she enjoyed gardening and cooking for her family. She was a true homemaker. She loved her family and will be missed.
Elsie is survived by her loving family: sister Evelyn Wilkinson of Cedar Creek; children Barbara Bassham, David Stepan, and Alvin Stepan Jr., all of Burleson; grandchildren Jennifer Bassham, Amber Hamilton and husband Trey Hamilton, and Ryan Burdett; great-grandchildren Abby Doyle, Conan Doyle, Elan Hamilton, Landry Bassham, Kaedyn Cook, Jaycob Blackwood and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Alvin F. Stepan, Sr., her grandson Trey Bassham, her parents, and her sisters Lillian Malatek and Patricia Darilek.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
Visitation and service will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Pathway Church, 325 NW Renfro Street, Burleson, TX 76028. Visitation will begin at 10 am followed by the service at 11 am. Graveside Service will be at 1 pm in the Garden of Hope at Laurel Land, 7100 Crowley Road, Fort Worth, TX 76134.
