A Graveside Service for Flossie will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery, 7301 East Lancaster Ave, Fort Worth, Texas 76112.
Flossie was born in Longview Texas, to Flossie Hunter Harris and Joe Harris on March 14, 1951. She graduated from Mary C. Womack High School in Longview before moving to Fort Worth. A kind woman with a selfless and nurturing nature. She was a caretaker for multiple generations of children for 50 years. Never one to complain or burden others with her troubles. Even in her last days, she still wanted to take care of others. In the end, reflecting on her life and the children she helped to raise, she stated, “It wasn’t all bad, at least I got to see them grow up.”
Behind her reserved nature was an engaging, spirited, intelligent and funny woman. Her quips often kept her family in stitches. Competitive, she was a formidable opponent in Jeopardy, Frisbee golf, and UNO. A lover of food (deli sandwiches, pasta, breads, and sherbet), cooking (stroganoff and chicken and dumplings were a couple of her favorites), and music (She never got tired of Luther Vandross), and absolutely nothing could bring a smile to her face like a new cookbook, and an ice-cold glass of coke. On sunny days, you could catch her outside reading. A Sci-Fi and Horror film fan. She was also a television historian. There wasn’t a TV show, character or episode she couldn’t describe in full detail.
Flossie was welcomed into eternity by her parents Flossie Harris and Joe Harris, and brothers Aransome Ingram, Charles Ingram, Ernest Gene Ingram & Roy Lee Ingram.
She leaves behind siblings Will Ingram Sr.,Willie Joe Harris, Ralph Harris, Julia Harris, Evelyn Harris, Gussie Harris, Lorraine Harris, & Robert Harris. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, and great nephews she helped care for, Will Ingram Jr, Demetrius Ingram Sr, Demetrius Ingram Jr, Troy Washington, Anthony Harris, Jason Harris, Kim Lloyd, Ashley Harris, and Aaron Lloyd and her beloved Rondo.
