Frank Dennis Hicks, 74, of Crowley, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 17, 2025, in Cleburne, Texas, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him, and his life will be forever remembered.
Frank was born on May 14, 1950, in Dallas, Texas, at Florence Nightingale Hospital, to the late Homer Dana Hicks and Nola May Trousdale Hicks. He attended Paschal High School in Fort Worth and went on to serve his country with honor as a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. His dedication to his country and his sacrifices will always be remembered with gratitude.
Frank found true love when he met Betty Lou Teague while they were both employed at James Wise Floor Service. They married and shared 53 years of devotion, laughter, and partnership. Their bond was unbreakable, and Betty remained his steadfast companion until the very end.
After his military service, Frank went on to work with the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Department, where he served for many years. His commitment to protecting and serving his community left a lasting impact.
One of Frank’s greatest joys in life was music. He loved singing along to his favorite songs, and singing karaoke in his “man cave.” Frank also took great pride in his role as Caiaphas in the musical The Promise in Glen Rose, Texas, where he performed for several seasons, leaving a lasting impression on all who saw him on stage.
In addition to his love for music, Frank was passionate about fitness. Later in life, he became a national champion powerlifter in his late 50s, a testament to his strength, perseverance, and determination.
Frank’s legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Betty Lou Teague Hicks; daughter, Tammy Swanson (L.D.); sons, Tim Hicks (Christie) and Brian Hicks (Jaime); sister, Dana Hasting McGee (Michael); brother, Howard Hicks (Retha); grandchildren, Colton, Connor (Emily), Carlie, Devon, Jaiden, and Madeline; and great-grandchildren, Raelyn and Lincoln. He is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends who will carry his memory forward.

Frank's life was one of service, love, and joy, and he will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
An open visitation for Frank will be held Friday, March 28, 2025 from 9:00am – 5:00pm as well as visitation with family from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Laurel Land Funeral Home of Fort Worth, 7100 Crowley Rd, Fort Worth, Texas 76134.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Laurel Land. Burial with Military Honors to follow at Laurel Land Memorial Park.
