
On this day of  your 1-year entrance to heaven, we are still constantly reminded of you!  Not a day has gone by that I don’t laugh about something  you said, or have had tears run down my face as I listen to the many voice messages you left me through the years… There have been days I have actually called your cell-thinking you might answer. I look at pictures of us and think of so many milestones you were there to help with and to always add that extra bit of Fun, Laughter, and Love that you showed all who were around you.  
You are so special, the most amazing father a girl could ever ask for. I have been blessed beyond words…

Memory Eternal

I hardly remember a family memory from my youth that didn’t include my endearing brother-in-law George.  Funny, laid back, easy to be around and very handsome. First time I laid eyes on him as a grade schooler,  I had a major crush and so envious of my big sis .  Slicked back jet black hair, piercing  green eyes and a short sleeve shirt with a pack of lucky strikes tucked in and  driving a red and white corvette convertible. Swoon❤️
He always had nice things to say to me and loved taking my money at pitch every chance he got. I will miss his piercing blue/green eyes, wry smile, dapper style and positive nature. RIP bro. We all miss you so much.  Memory eternal. 

I am sorry for your loss of your precious papa. I know how sad and deeply empty I felt after the passing of my mom last year, but I am sending you all love, light, and prayers that all the beauty and joy you had in life with your dad and your family will sustain you and guide you in the weeks and months to come. Rest in the peace and knowledge that he is in now a heavenly place.

As I was driving to the hospital to see Uncle George, I was overwhelmed by emotion knowing that these were likely his last few weeks. I had seen it before with my own dad and knew how difficult the upcoming days would be for the family but also was fortunate enough to know how special it could be. The pressure of knowing that these could potentially be my last words to Uncle George was heavy to me for some reason.  I even I began to doubt if I said enough to my own dad as he was leaving this earth, so I wanted to make sure to convey my thoughts to him. #1, to not give up if he wasn't ready...but in the event that the cancer got the best of him, #2, he sure was loved by so many people, both family and friends. #3 that I respected him and looked up to him for the dad and husband that he was and #4 Say hi to my dad when you get up there.
I arrived at the hospital that afternoon and finally got the opportunity to sit with him. I got through points #1 and #2, but got choked up on #3 and couldn't continue. As I sat there with my head down trying to collect myself, he put his hand on my shoulder and said "sooo…. how's business?" I couldn't help but to laugh. 
While I didn't get through all of my points, I know that he understands how much I respected and cared for him. I'm sure he's up there playing pitch with my dad and Papou Mike as we speak. Uncle George you will be missed by many on this earth. There's no doubt that your legacy will live on through your kids and grandkids - you can already see it in them. Memory Eternal!

It was with great sorrow I received your call that George had passed. How futile is it to try and express my deep devotion for each and every one of you. Your dad was no exception, and my heart is heavy with the loss of such a great friend. 
George was a joy in our neighborhood. He always had something pleasant or funny to say. One of my favorite memories were the days when he would come over or phone asking "is the General there?" Your husband/father will be sorely missed.

 What can I say that has not already been said! Everyone look forward to seeing George on Sunday mornings at church and on Wednesday mornings at breakfast! He always made us laugh , Was always in good spirits and never had a bad thing to say about anyone or anything! We will miss you George, memory eternal!  Margaret and all the ageless wonders! 

George was such a kind, loving soul ... We were honored to have known him for so many years ... A guy from Mitchell, South Dakota, where my sister Tina and I were so very proud to have been born .. You married my beautiful cousin Tera over 60 years ago in Mitchell, and became an integral part of our family ... You were blessed with five amazing children, along with your grandchildren and great grandchildren, who loved you dearly and will carry on your legacy.

I am so happy that you and Tera were able to spend some time here in Phoenix with Walter and me before moving to Texas ... It was so much fun having you here with us to celebrate a New Year ... Your adorable personality always shone through.

I, too, regret not sharing this day with all who were there ... I have been my sister's back during a very crucial and critical time in brother-in-law Spike's hospitalization ... I watched the amazing film tribute, which was created by your family ... It brought tears to my eyes ... Thank you, George, for being a part of our lives ... We will miss you, but we are blessed to have so many of your loved ones to carry on ...

When I first met George I liked him right away.  He was always joking around and good for a laugh. We would always compare bowling scores, and sometimes beat mine! I'll miss that competition, and seeing him at the bowling alley.

I met George and Tera through my job at Great Clips.  Even though I've known George for only a few years, I  can honestly say he had an incredible personality.  He will truly be missed.  My condolences to Tera and the rest of the family. 

We still can't believe he's gone. He was sweet, loving, caring, kind, gentle, funny guy. Not a bad looking guy either. I'm glad he was and always will be in our family! He always was there for everyone and helping them. Thanks for teaching Brian poker and pitch. Sitting with him talking for endless hours. He will miss that. I will miss his kind, loving heart. Family events, holidays won't be the same, not seeing you and hugging you, but I know you are celebrating with us in heaven. We will miss you and you will always be in our hearts!💗love you

George was an awesome man.  My father past 10 years ago and George was a second dad to me and grand dad to my kids.  He welcomed me into the family with open arms.  He was quick with a joke and always told it like it is.  He made me laugh to tears so many times and was truly a Papou to us all.  We will miss you Pop!

Always loved it when George would visit us in Southern California !!  His arrival meant a lot of pitch games!!  George would mumble through out the game about how lucky the opposing team was & how valiantly he was fighting on with tougher cards!  We would always take him to Pala Casino!  George would carefully take out a $20 bill & play!! On a recent trip 30 minutes  after  casino arrival George called my cell & asked where I was. - I said over at the back bar playing video poker.- he said he would come over now & wanted “to show me something”.  Sure enough he came over & showed me machine tickets of $860 & $270  each!!  He was so happy!!  RIP George & I hope U find a good game up there!!!  George E.

I bowled with George, Andy and Doug for several years. George was always in an incredible mood and always had a smile on his face. During my hard times, the family was kind enough to invite me to Thanksgiving dinner and there was so much love between everyone. It broke my heart to hear the world lost such a great person.

Your bright blue eyes, infectious smile, and ability to make me belly laugh was second to none.  You always were in  a great mood, and always willing to help anyone , especially when it came to your family and the church.  I was blessed to be a recipient of your willingness to do anything I asked when baking. (My best butter boy ever)!  Our family get togethers will not be the same without you sitting in a chair in front to the TV or playing pitch with someone.  I am so grateful to have been able to watch your beautiful family take care of you when you started not feeling well.  You both have done a wonderful job creating so many memories for all of us.   I love and will miss you always. 

Georgie-I will miss you every day for the rest of my life. Your smile and your hugs were the best. You loved my children as if they were your own. I am so grateful I got to tell you how much I loved you. Till we meet again in heaven-please save a chair for me! Memory eternal my dear sweet Georgie. ❤️

 George and Tera.....what a fabulous pair, and just look at what they produced!!!!...five beautiful, wonderful kids... all of whom excelled and became responsible, successful and much admired adults.  They did it together.  George played a huge role in forming their     personas.  He was probably the most devoted and hands-on Dad I've ever known.  And, what a cutie he was.  He made us all feel so special with that twinkle in his eye.  We are so grateful for the time we shared with George and Tera...at The White House on 4th of July, in New York City, at Cape Cod and Candlewood Lake in Connecticut.  We will ever forget you George and will keep you in our hearts forever. Tera ....we love you and know how happy you made George.  You gave him 60 wonderful years.  Stacia, Andy, Lou, Nutz and Mike ...you were fortunate to call him Dad.  We wish we could stand with you today to honor him.  May his memory be eternal.  Love, Tina and Spike

George has been a part of my life since he dated my beautiful cousin Tera who became  his beautiful wife. He was the most handsome Greek in Sioux Falls !!!
I think he knew it too! Always enjoyed being with people, had the hottest cars of anyone and loved taking kids for rides. All the girls loved him, but his love was Tera. After they got married they would play cards  with my parents. My weight was always a problem, I will never forget walking into the living room one day when they were over. 
The first thing George said when we saw me "Nikki your boobs finally stick out further than your stomach,"
I was elated because I had been working so hard to loose weight! He always knew what to say to make your day! He was kind to everyone, like teaching Brian to play pitch, which made such an impression on him. His kindness and love was something non of us will ever forget. I believe he will live forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His Memory Will Be Eternal. We are so thankful to have had him in our lives..

No one was more kind and gracious than Papou.  He always enjoyed a conversation and was always cheerful. You will be missed but not forgotten. 

George never met a stranger and always had a positive attitude. I’ll always remember that mischievous glint in his eye.  Also, even though he was in his eighties, he could bowl better than me. A fact of which he would often remind me.  I’ll miss you every Thursday night,George. (bowling night)

Pop- you have been and will continue to be a huge part of all of our lives. Your face, as it lights up with every smile, will now light up a spot in Heaven. I Loved our week together last summer as we tooled around in my Mtn. Man truck- too many good times to even be able to mention.
