Gerald Edwin McElroy, a longtime resident of Ft. Worth passed away Dec 23rd to be with his Lord and Savior. His Celebration of Life will be held Jan 5th, 10:00 am at Christ Chapel Bible Church small sanctuary 3701 Birchman Ave. in Ft. Worth. Jerry was born in Crowley, LA to parents Reverend Theodore (Ted) and Maurine McElroy. The family relocated to Paris Texas where Jerry graduated from Paris high school. He attended TCU where he earned a BA degree in 1954. There he met his loving wife, Norma Louise Holland who were married for 69 yrs. Jerry had several jobs over the years however his greatest joy was owner of Jerry’s Beef Barn Bar B Que where he served his customers with joy and humor for close to 25 yrs. Jerry had a servant heart and over his lifetime volunteered for many organizations such as the Lions club where he was a life member. Jerry is preceded in death by his two brothers Ted Jr. and Gene, two sisters Waneta and Maureen. Survivors include his wife Norma, Sons Gerald McElroy Jr, James McElroy and his wife Donna, sister Madonna Olsteen, grandsons Caleb McElroy his wife Lindsey, Eric McElroy his wife Melody, and four great granddaughters Norah, Charis, Jane, Maryn, numerous nieces, nephews and host of other relatives and friends.
