Gloria Marie Whittaker

Marie was born and raised in Rocky Mount, LA. She attended Rocky Mount High School and North Western State University in Natchitoches, LA. She married and later moved to North Richland Hills, TX in 1959. Marie was a strong and loving mother, grandmother of 11, great grandmother of 20, and great-great grandmother of 3. Marie’s family was blessed to learn so many valuable lessons in her 90 years.

Marie is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Clark Johnson and Mamie Burks Johnson; husband, Donald Whittaker; son, Norman Lutz; 3 great grandchildren; brother, John Clark Johnson, and sister, Mary Belle McKinney.

Survivors: daughter, Vicki Thompson; grandchildren, Clint Richard Thompson, Hester Gene Rodriguez, Justin Lee Thompson, Walter Don Thompson, Anne Marie McCarthy, Victoria Camille Haley, Bob Lewis Thompson, Riley Sloan Thompson, Jeff Lutz, Michelle Stringer, Tara Lindsey, and great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sister, Betty “Monty” Thurman.

Service: Graveside on Monday, February 19, 2018 at 1pm at Rocky Mount Presbyterian Cemetery in Bossier Parish, LA.
