

Hal was born to Joseph and Bessie Myers in El Dorado, Kansas on April 21, 1933. He graduated from Cassoday Rural High School and went on to obtain a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Wichita State University. From 1952 to 1956, he served in the United States Armed forces and during his service, he married the love of his life Yvonne C. Myers on February 5, 1955 and together they raised their three children.
With his education as an electrical engineer, Hal made a career with multiple organizations such as Genreal Dynamics, Texas Instruments, Micronix and Reliance Communication and Technology. A man of great faith with a servant’s heart, he became an ordained Deacon in the Baptist church, volunteered in the Jail Ministry in the Fort Worth Prison System and at the Wood County Justice Center, he also served on the Board of Directors with the Bread Basket Ministries in Fort Worth for several years, and was a member of the Gideons International. In 2014, Hal was honored as a Hometown Hero in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. In his free time, he always enjoyed riding his bicycle and camping with his family, especially in Colorado. He always took care of others who did not have family and treated them as they were a part of his. Family meant the world to him and he will be greatly missed.
Hal was preceded in death by his precious wife Yvonne C. Myers. Daughter Joann L. Myers, and brother Joseph J. Myers.
He is survived by his daughters Jeanette Myers Tenpenny and husband Jim of Granbury, Texas, Annette Yvonne Rossow and husband Matthew of Dos Palos, California, four grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. He leaves behind many other family members, friends, and a beautiful legacy.

A committal service officiated by Pastor Mark Berry will be held at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. A celebration of life accompanied by a reception will be held immediately following at Bread Basket Ministries located at 2809 Mansfield Highway, Fort Worth, Texas 76119.
