Born on March 21, 1938, in Wellington, KS to Frank and Katharina Myers. Dean was raised with strong values and a generous spirit that stayed with him all his life. As a young man, he met the love of his life, Betty, they married on June 16, 1956. In their marriage of 66 years Dean and Betty built a life full of love, laughter and deep devotion to each other and their family.
In 1967 Dean, Betty and their three children moved to Texas. Not long after, Dean began working at Menasco Aerospace, where he found great fulfillment in his role as a final inspector for landing gear. The company manufactured landing gear for the Bell Jet Ranger, Bell Osprey, the Boeing 777 and the Space Shuttle.
Dean and Betty cherished time with their family and played a key role in ensuring the annual family reunion took place. Dean was one of the kindest, most caring individuals one could ever meet – always ready to lend a helping hand to friends and family alike. He never hesitated to be there for you. In fact, Dean always treated his children’s friends as if they were his own, welcoming everyone with warmth and generosity.
Dean’s legacy is the love he gave, the lives he lifted, and the memories he helped create. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the stories shared, the lessons taught, and the love that continues to bind his family together.
Dean is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Katharina Myers, his sister Mary Alice Baker; his brothers George and Leroy Myers, and his beloved wife, Betty Myers.
He is survived by his three children: Jim Myers, Carrie Taylor and her husband Bruce, and Brad Myers—as well his sister Carolyn Estes and husband Ted, and sister-in-law Lavonne O’Bryant. He leaves behind seven grandchildren – J.D., Christan and husband Grant, Lauren and husband Matt, Drew and life partner Shamber, Kelli and husband Shane, Kira and husband Larry, Michael and wife Meghan; his nine great-grandchildren – Alexis, Kayla, Madilynn, Logan, Taylor, Mars, Colton, Cooper, with Maeve due in September; and two great-great-grandchildren – Tyson and Layne. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends who became family along the way.
A Celebration of Life for Dean will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Shannon Rufe Snow Drive Funeral Chapel, 6001 Rufe Snow Dr, Ft. Worth, TX 76148.
