After graduating high school, he proudly joined the United States Marines, serving his country with honor. Following his military service, he worked for the Texas Department of Transportation, where he served as a supervisor over the highways of transportation for many years.
He was an avid deer hunter who enjoyed the outdoors and treasured time spent with friends. Known for his stern and strong personality, he was also social and enjoyed attending Marine reunions across the United States, where he formed lifelong friendships and shared stories with fellow veterans.
He is survived by his daughters, Charlotte Hammack and Sharon Epperson; grandchildren, Shawn Hammack and wife, Lisa, Faushia Coseriu and husband, Greg, and Danalea Epperson; and great-grandchildren, Anastasia Draper, Seth Hammack, Caleb Hammack, Tyler Pickup, Andrew Pickup, Grace Winsett, Adelyn Coseriu, and Gregory Coseriu.
