Joan Francis Borda

Joan was born in Malden, MA to Edna Mae VanBuskirk and John VanBuskirk Jr. on May 20th, 1946. She was married for a short time to Justo Borda Sr. Together, they had four amazing children; Louis, Justo, Doddie Ann, and Christopher. Later in life, she worked as a store manager for several years at McDonalds with her son Christopher. She relocated to Texas in 1998, but she never lost her Boston accent. Joan loved Harry Potter, both the books and the movies, playing board games such as Yahtzee, Sequence, Monopoly and Pokeno with family and friends, and watching the Hallmark channel.

Joan is preceded in death by her daughter, Doddie Ann; her mother, Edna Mae; her father, John; her sister, Hellen Lois; her sister, Kathy; and several nieces and nephews.

Joan is survived by her son Louis and his wife Catheline; her son Justo and his wife Dina; her son Christopher; her brother John and his wife Michelle; her grandchildren Jeremy, Emily, Brandon, and Mella; her four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Joan’s family would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and condolences. It has been greatly appreciated getting them through this difficult time.
