JOE ANN ADAMS SIDNEY was born in Jasper, Texas, to Louis C. and Annie Pearl Adams on August 25, 1943. Upon graduating from high school, she attended Prairie View A&M where she held both Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Education. Joe was a teacher for over 45 years at Atwood McDonalds' Elementary School.
JOE ANN and her family were members of the Beth Eden Baptist church where Dr. James Boatner was her pastor. She was a faithful member until her illness. JOE ANN was preceded in her transition to eternal
life by her parents, and sisters Betty Johnson and Shirley Taylor. She is survived by her high school sweetheart Woodrow Sidney and was married for 61 years; two sisters, Bobbie Smith, Helen Lee; (Harper) one brother Louis Adams, Jr. two sons, Darryl Sidney and Dondrick Sidney; two grandsons; John Derrick Morgan and Darry Bryant Sidney. Two great granddaughters Journey and Jersey Sidney. One special sister-in law Beatrice Sidney and a very special friend Jerry Pleasant. Joe was loved by everyone including her nieces, nephews, cousins and all
that knew her.
A SPECIAL TRIBUTE TO OUR BROTHER-IN-LAW WOODROW SIDNEY. Who was Joe’s caregiver for over five years since her illness and never complained. Whatever she needed, he was always there. We know there were choices that he could have made such as assisted living, but he chose to keep her home and take care of her himself with the help of his two sons, sister-in-law Beatrice Sidney and her good friend, Jerry Pleasant. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. With Love, The
Adam's Family.
