

Johnnie Dell Drennan, 89, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2022 in Fort Worth, Texas. Johnnie was born on July 21, 1932 in Decatur, Texas to Annie Hudson Cross and Virgil Cross. Johnnie was the youngest of six siblings, including one older brother and 4 older sisters.
She grew up in Decatur and after graduating from high school moved to Fort Worth and began a long and successful working career. Johnnie soon established herself as a valued and accomplished executive secretary working in commercial insurance and finance. She later moved on to work for General Dynamics and finished her career at Computer Sciences Corporation.
After her retirement Johnnie turned her attention to volunteer activities including serving as a docent at the National Cowgirl Museum & Hall of Fame and the Cattle Raisers Museum. However, her greatest contributions came as a member of the historic Woman’s Club of Fort Worth. She was an avid reader and student of Texas history and served as chairman of the Texas Library at the Woman’s Club for 10 years.
Johnnie was blessed with a large family and loved them one and all. She is survived by son Terry Drennan and wife Paula, grandson Chad Drennan and wife Kristi, grandson Mike Drennan and wife Lauren, granddaughter Kristen Buchanan and husband David, granddaughter Marianne Brawner and husband Joseph and twelve beautiful great grandchildren.
Loved for her infectious smile and zest for life, Johnnie was a joy to many, many friends and extended family.
