John had a variety of interests throughout his life, including working on cars; cheering on the Dallas Cowboys; mentoring entrepreneurs and small business owners; and supporting his beloved Navy. Above all, though, John was a devoted Christian, husband, and father.
His relationship with the Lord infused everything he did. Through his kindness and selflessness he constantly pointed his family and all those around him to Christ. In a turbulent world John was known as a steady rock, all thanks to his foundation in God.
John’s success as a husband and father is evident in the devotion of his wife and children. He will be sorely missed but his example will live on not only in his children, but in his grandchildren and beyond. This man who lacked a consistent father figure as a child “flipped the script” and became the greatest father imaginable.
John is preceded in death by his first wife, Linda, and sister, Brenda. He is survived by his second wife, Clara, daughters, Vicki and Julie, and son, John Jr. He was blessed with seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, along with Clara’s loving children and grandchildren.
