Juanita Mansell Frankenfield, 95, went home to be with the Lord on November 3, 2017. She was preceded in death by her father Roy Mansell of Frederick, Oklahoma and mother Aline Reasoner of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Juanita was born in Frederick, Oklahoma on July 28, 1922. Growing up on her parents’ cotton farm, she recalled raising turkeys and picking cotton as a child. She attended school in nearby Chattanooga where she became the valedictorian of her high school graduating class of twelve.
After graduation, Juanita attended business college near Wichita Falls, Texas and subsequently landed a job at Convair (later known as General Dynamics) in Fort Worth where she met her future husband Sam Frankenfield. They were married on October 27, 1945 and settled in the Handley neighborhood of east Fort Worth.
In addition to being a housewife and mother, Juanita filled the role of business partner in Sam’s various business ventures - most notably, custom home building under the name of Sam Frankenfield, Inc. Juanita’s accounting background and keen attention to detail freed Sam up to go out and be the mover and shaker while she quietly dotted all the I’s and crossed all the T’s behind the scenes.
In retirement, Juanita enjoyed cattle ranching with Sam and the serenity of country living in rural Wise County near the town of Rhome, Texas, tending to her flowers and knocking out crossword puzzles. Her quick wit, charm and warm smile will be dearly missed as she is now absent from the body and present with the Lord.
Juanita is survived by her husband of 72 years Sam Frankenfield, daughter Jan McNicholas and husband Mike of Hurst, son Samuel Frankenfield III and wife Suzan of Fort Worth, grandchildren Shaye Baber, Michael Todd McNicholas and Christopher Watson, and great grandchildren Samantha, Savanah, Meagan and Sydney.
