Karen E. Potts, aka "Meme", age 61, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at home. From her birth in Greenfield, MA to her death on Thursday she nourished people around her with her faith and love.
In May 2015, Karen was diagnosed with Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer. She immediately began treatment and fought a hard battle. She was strong and always tried to comfort those around her knowing her battle was a difficult one. She was full of faith that helped her make it through the tough days. She always made sure those in her life, near or far, knew she loved them.
Karen was born to Harwood and Teresa Lucier on August 12, 1954 in Greenfield, Massachusetts. She was raised with 6 brothers and sisters in Greenfield, Mass. where she graduated from Greenfield High School in 1972. Karen met her husband, Dave in high school and married him in 1972. She has joined him in Heaven and is in his arms once again.
She leaves behind her two children, her son David Potts Jr. and her daughter Tracy Caves. She also leaves behind five Grandchildren Allison, Ashley and Austin Potts and Stephanie and Zackery Caves. She has 6 brothers and sisters, Yvonne, Beverly, Jerry, Philip, David, and Mike, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Dave, and her mother and father. She also leaves behind many friends that she also considered as family.
During her time in Ft Worth, she worked as a Nanny, and child caregiver to people she considers family. Karen enjoyed spending time with family and friends, listening to and watching the birds and taking care of children. She had alot of love for the Lord Jesus and we know she is safe in His arms and pain free.
He will be missed the most by her immediate and extended family and friends. She is missed by many but will suffer no more here on Earth, she is in a better place and we will meet her there someday in Heaven. She was and is the best "Meme" in the world.
Special thanks to everyone who has offered their sympathy and prayers in this difficult time for us.
Arrangements under the direction of Shannon Rufe Snow Drive Funeral Chapel, Fort Worth, TX.
