

Service: 12:30 pm Friday at Trinity Cumberland Presbyterian Church at 7120 W Cleburne Rd 76133. Visitation is from 11-12:30 at the church prior to the service.
Leota was born on July 22, 1927 in Longworth to Henry and Ruby Staas. Leota Marie quickly adopted the name “Pat”. Her father was a German immigrant and later worked as a postmaster in Texas where he met his future wife Ruby. From 1927 through 1941 the family resided in Longworth. In 1941 they relocated to nearby San Angelo, where Pat graduated from San Angelo High School followed by San Angelo Junior College. During the WWII years she volunteered her time to the USO in San Angelo. From 1946 through 1952 Leota was married and lived in Arizona, Virginia, Florida and Japan, enjoying her travels as an Air Force wife. Leota lived in Mt. Holly, NJ where she worked in Real Estate sales for 13 years. The next three years in Mt. Holly were devoted to working with the aged and chronically ill in Burlington County, NJ. It was in 1965 that Leota returned to Texas and settled in Fort Worth where she worked three more years as a real estate salesperson. She devoted 26 years to the Government Services Administration and retired in 1994. Leota is a member of the Trinity Cumberland Presbyterian Church and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
Leota is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gene LaRue Staas.
Pat is survived by her only son, Gene who lives with his wife Nancy in Sunrise Beach, MO; grandchildren Kim and Kellie; one great grandchild, Lorelei. From her late husband Bob's side of the family she is survived by Randy and Doug McKee, Janet Leffinigwell, Karen Vestal, many grandchildren, extended family and friends.
