Lionel Gordon Miller

Memorial is Friday April 1, 2022 at Shannon Rose Hill in Ft Worth, TX.

Lionel was born September 16, 1929 to Joseph and Dora Miller from San Gabriel, CA. He was united in marriage June 20 1948 to Charlotte Lee (Sparkman) in Flagstaff, Arizona.

Lionel was a retired machinist/business owner. He was a member of the Temecula Band of Luiseno Indians – Silver Feathers. Throughout his years he served in the Army, was both assistant and Fire chief for the Newark Volunteer fire department. He served for the City of Newark for many years. He coached youth baseball and was a Sunday school teacher and win or lose he was a die hard cowboy fan. Anyone that Lionel met he always considered them family and always had the best hugs to share with everyone he knew. He loved BIG. Lionel’s greatest joy was spending time with his family, he loved all his “babies”. He always made everyone he came around feel special and you always knew how much he loved you, he was Papa to everyone.

Lionel grew up in San Gabriel CA. and he and his wife moved their family to Texas in 1956 where they settled with their family in Newark, TX.

Lionel was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather and friend to many who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Dora Miller, his beloved wife of 45 years Charlotte (Sparkman), his son Johnny Miller, his sister Sylvia Miller and his companion Glenda Anderson.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter Linda (Dada) Galloway and her husband Lonnie and Daughter In-law Barbara Miller. Grandchildren, Michael Inman and wife Staci, Sondra Inman, Tonya Newby and husband John, Toni Cullins and husband David, John Avirett and Brandon Avirett, James Miller and wife Angela, and Chuck Abbott. 12 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and his bonus children Aaron and Annie Anderson, Roy Dean and Felicia Anderson, Randy and Liz Anderson and a host of family and friends.
