

Lizzie Mae Hancox was born on February 26, 1950, to Richard Hancox and Annie Mae Young in Hale Center, Texas, where she lived until graduating from high school. Over the years, she called many cities home, but the one closest to her heart—and where she ultimately settled—was Fort Worth, Texas.
Lizzie was the beloved matriarch of her family, known for her unwavering love and support for both family and friends. She loved to travel and often visited loved ones across the country. One of her favorite destinations was Bossier, Louisiana, a place that brought her joy and, occasionally, luck.
Throughout her life, Lizzie hosted memorable holidays, parties, and family gatherings, creating cherished moments that will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. Her warmth, generosity, and spirit touched everyone around her.
Lizzie Mae Compton will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and togetherness will stay with those who were fortunate enough to know her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Hancox, Sr. and Annie Mae Runnels; also her siblings, Larry Martin, Cora Hancox and Lawrence Runnels.
Lizzie Mae Compton is survived by her loving husband, Ivory Compton; she leaves behind her devoted children, Tiacharmane Howard, Adrena Mosley and Tawania Compton; her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Dakota Mosley, Angela Howard, Mariah Howard and Ivory Anna Compton; her great-grandchildren, Kenji Walton, Iris Nichols, Hayden Lino, Jasmine Nichols and LaMarque Howard; Lizzie was a beloved sister to; Shirley Thompson, Howard Hancox, Sr., Richard Hancox, Jr., Frankie Johnson, Gloria Martin, Walter Hancox, Tommie Runnels, Byrdanna Hennigan and Rozell Runnels. A heartfelt thank you to Ms. Phyllis Rigmaiden, her lifelong best friend. Your love and support meant the world to Lizzie—she often said she wouldn’t have made it this far without you. Love always. Lizzie also leaves behind a host of extended family and friends, including nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones whose lives she touched deeply.
