Lynn Monroe Brown, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on October 22, 2024. He was married to the love of his life, Carol, for 62 years, and their bond defined much of his life.
Lynn was a talented mechanic, owning and operating Brown & Morrick Automotive. His passion for cars began in his teenage years and remained a significant part of his identity. He loved being able to identify problems with automobiles and find solutions, taking pride in fixing them. Lynn looked forward to going to work every day because he truly enjoyed working on cars.
Lynn was a devoted friend, with lifelong connections that were integral to his life. He shared an incredible friendship with Sam for nearly 70 years and cherished his bond with Dusty for over 50 years. Their conversations and camaraderie brought him immense joy and comfort.
Lynn and Carol always took their girls to the lake to go fishing and camping. They also spent a lot of time at the deer lease with their friends, where he enjoyed hunting deer, elk, and turkey. As the girls grew up, he continued traveling with Carol in their fifth wheel, and he cherished those trips to Colorado, Texas, and all around the United States. They created countless happy memories often accompanied by his favorite ritual of happy hour.
Lynn is survived by his daughters, Angela and Crystal, and his grandchildren, Rainy, Savanah, Madison, and Kaitlyn, as well as great-grandchildren Ruby, Ian, and Hazel. Lynn's family also includes the spouses of his children and grandchildren—Joe, Cheryl, Tyler, and Trevor—who considered him to be their own Papa as well—a role he accepted and loved.
We will continue to honor his legacy of love, family, and the joy of a shared drink with those we hold dear—just as he always did. Although we lost him too soon, his spirit and the sweet crinkle in his eyes when he smiled will remain forever in our hearts. Just call him Papa, everybody does.
