JoAnn had a passion for creative writing and poetry, drawing art, handwriting, crossword puzzles, cake decorating and cooking. She loved traveling to the beach and visiting her southern relatives.
She enjoyed writing in her journal daily, as well as writing letters to family and friends. She could be described as someone who would never forget your birthday, always sending a card or a very thoughtful gift. She loved children and taught Sunday school at her church for several years. While growing up in a military family, she lived in many different places in the US and overseas.
She married a military man, David W. Axline, the love of her life, and was married for over 50 years. She retired early with Arlington ISD, working in the Accounting Department. A beloved Mother, grandmother, and friend, will be dearly missed by those blessed to have shared in her journey.
JoAnn is survived by her daughters, Stacie Elston, Kristie Delgado, and Dina Vahed and son, Justin Axline and their spouses; Grandchildren, Amber Delgado, Megan Delgado, Haly Long, May Vahed, Hannah Elston, Amanda Delgado and Jules Axline and numerous other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held Monday, December 27, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel and Cemetery, 7301 East Lancaster, Fort Worth, TX 76112, followed by a reception service from 2:30 to 4:30pm.
