

Maria "Nena" Elena Verona, age 50, was called to return home to her Heavenly Father and her late parents, Tencha and Jose; grandson, John Alex; brothers, Joe and Jessie on Monday, September 22, 2014. Memorial Service: 11am Saturday at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel. Family will welcome guests at 6 pm with a rosary to follow beginning at 7 pm Friday at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel.
Nena was born April 20, 1964 in Fort Worth to Jose Angel and Hortencia Verona, where she lived her entire life. She served loyally as office manager at The Historic Cattlemen's Steakhouse for 20 years. She was a member of Oak Crest Family Outreach Church, where she served as leader in food ministries for 13 years.
She was an avid competitive professional "Sharp Shooter" in Local Pool Leagues for 22 years. A member of BCA & ACS Pool for many years and played in tournaments, which landed her the opportunity to play in Las Vegas.
Nena, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Was dedicated to spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She focused on keeping her grandchildren together. She loved to spoil her grandchildren by having them stay over on weekends, staying up all hours of the night watching tv and playing games. Everyone who knew her was blessed to have met such a wonderful spirited woman. She touched so many lives and was loved by all who knew her and was a stranger to no one. She will be deeply missed.
Nena is survived by her loving husband, Adolfo; loving daughter, Angela; sons, Jason, Alex and Cameron; grandchildren, Elijah, Kharisma, Savannah, Anjolie, Toni Alexa, Julien, Baby Alex; favorite son-in-law, Moses; cherished daughter-in-law, Roxanne; brother, Victor and wife, Stella, but most of all her best friend for 30 years; loving sister, Velia; special family member, Sarah and her children, Marissa and Santana and a host of extended family and many, many, wonderful loving friends.
