He was born in Fort Worth, Texas on April 2, 1939. Marquis graduated from Gladewater High School and was later married to Dolores Winsett McRay on July 3, 1957. Marquis worked and retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. He had a passion for family and was a very family oriented man, loved Bluegrass music and traveling.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife Dolores McRay. He is survived by his children; Roger McRay (Jana), Steve McRay and Julie Miller (Daryl), grandchildren; Keli Cotten, Justin McRay, Dylan McRay, Amy Lee Moore, Laci Moore, Tiffany Morogiello, Lindsey Miller and Kevin Miller, brother; Ron McRay and his dear friend Annette Mowery. Marquis also leaves behind 10 great grandchildren who he loved and cherished.
