Merlin Leroy Hodges Jr.

Merlin was born March 17, 1931 to Merlin Leroy & Cecille Mae Hodges and raised in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. He served in the US Army in Korea and was awarded the Purple Heart for his injuries. He loved to ride motorcycles, hunt and fish. He loved the Lord and was a member of Baptist Temple in Bartlesville. He moved to Crowley, TX in 1995, and in 1996 he married Melba Burns. He Lived in Crowley until Melba passed in 2007, then moved to Granbury, TX to live with his daughter. He was a member of Bible Church in Granbury.

Merlin leaves to cherish his memories: His children; Katheryne Shellenberger, Patricia Farmer and Teressa Eastwood( Michael); Step Children, Glenda Thacker (Joel), Butch Burns (Jeanette), and Gerald Burns(Brenda); Brother-in-Law, Verlin Larson; Grandchildren, Jennifer Tipton (Chad), Harley Lynds and Kimberly Trussell; Great Grandchildren, Dylan Tipton and Katie Tipton; Nieces, Jean Butner (Doug); and Nephew, Karl Hodges(Trena)

Merlin was preceded in death by his parents, Merlin Leroy and Cecille Mae; wife, Melba Burns; his brother, James; sister, Ellen; granddaughters, Stephanie Ann Ward and Shonna Renee Ward; niece, Tammy; and nephew, Robert.
