Mick Moffitt, 53 of Burleson, Texas passed away on July 24, 2023 after a year long brave and courageous battle with cancer. His beloved wife, Julie and family were by his side as he took his last breath here on Earth and entered the gates of Heaven. His faith never waivered and he fought the good fight and finished his race strong.
Mick was born on March 17, 1970 to Terry and Linda Moffitt in Hagerstown, Maryland. He moved to Texas in 1979 after losing his mother tragically in a house fire at the age of 6 years old. He met his beautiful wife Julie in 1999 and they were married December 26, 1999.
Mick never forgot the compassion he received from the firefighters when he lost his mother and dreamed of becoming a firefighter. His dreams were realized when he became a firefighter for Midlothian Fire Department for eight years as Firefighter/Paramedic, quickly getting promoted to Lieutenant. He then transitioned to help start Training Division Fire Academy and served as CEO. He had a passion for mentoring the next generation of firemen and teaching on serving their community with integrity and honor. Mick then launched his own business, Fire Pro Resources, helping firemen advance their career through coaching and mentoring.
Mick had a genuine servants’ heart and shined with the love of Jesus. He had a passion for men’s ministry and had previously served as men’s Pastor for 12 years at the Heights Church in Cleburne, Texas. Despite his battle, Mick continued to lead his men’s group at his current church, Mercy Culture in Fort Worth. He desired to bring the motto of “NO MAN LEFT BEHIND” from the fireman Brotherhood into the church. He served with CMN men’s ministry rescuing men with the message of Christ.
Mick was a devoted husband to Julie for 23 years and was the most wonderful father to his children Michael, Brody and Ava. Whether he was coaching their football teams or having tea parties with his daughter, he always put them first. His children never knew a day without their father’s love.
Mick was preceded in death by his mother, Linda and father Terry Moffitt. He is survived by his wife Julie and children, Michael Jr. (29), Brody (15) and Ava Moffitt (12) and sister Lisa Moffitt of Keller, Texas.
