Michael Harold Parnell

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael Harold Parnell, who went to be with the Lord on January 11, 2026 at the age of 76. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. His presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Born on March 13, 1949 in Washington, District of Columbia, Michael was the child of Harold and Wynelle "Winnie" Parnell. Throughout his life, Michael was known for his outstanding work ethic, his skill in carpentry, painting, drywall work and leatherwork. In his parents’ latter years he devoted his time and energy to making sure they could remain comfortably at home as long as possible.

Michael was a fifteen year survivor of cancer.

Michael is survived with sorrow by his daughter Tanya M. Murray of New York, two grandsons, sister Linda, brother David Parnell (Sabrina) of Tennessee, niece Deanna Gail Nixon of South Carolina, niece Amy Honea (Trent) and many more family and friends.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents.

The family invites relatives and friends to a celebration of Michael's life at a date and location to be determined. The family deeply appreciates the outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. Michael’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
