Celebration of life: 10 a.m. Thursday at Meadowbrook United Methodist Church, Fort Worth. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park.
Nell was born on the Wright ranch just south of Falfurrias on March 20, 1921. She graduated from Falfurrias High School, where she was a cheerleader and a member of the tennis team. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She was an excellent seamstress, making costumes and prom dresses for her daughters and a few nieces. In addition, she had a strong faith and had been a member of Meadowbrook United Methodist Church since 1959 and had taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Vanessa Lewis Staffen; her parents, Eugene Clark Wright and Lela Elizabeth Hensley Wright; four sisters; and one brother.
Survivors: Sister and brother-in-law, Olene and Abner Penner; daughters and sons-in-law, Alene and Don Johnson, Diana and Herbie Herbert and Kathy McCoy; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
