Norma Estela Guerra

Born on August 27, 1961, in McAllen, Texas, Norma was the daughter of Roberto and Maria Olivia Barragan. She grew up in McAllen and graduated from McAllen High School as part of the Class of 1979. From a young age, Norma demonstrated a strong work ethic and a passion for connecting with others. She began working at the age of 17 and continued throughout her life, forming lasting friendships with many of her coworkers across various jobs.

Norma’s greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She is lovingly remembered by her son, Argelio Guerra Jr., daughter in law Veronica Fonseca Guerra; her daughters Kristina Guerra-Garcia and her husband Rogelio Garcia; and Krystal Guerra-Precoma and her husband Edwin Precoma. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Andrew Villegas, Luis Guerra, Brianna Guerra, and Argelio Guerra III.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Argelio Guerra Sr., as well as her parents, Roberto and Maria Olivia Barragan. Norma also mourned the loss of her sisters Nora Reyes and Rosa Santana during her lifetime.

Norma had a vibrant spirit that shone through in everything she did. She was an avid fan of the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys, rarely missing a game. She loved watching movies and TV shows, often sharing recommendations with friends and family. A devoted grandmother, Norma delighted in capturing countless memories through photographs of her grandchildren. Her adventurous side led her to travel whenever possible with her daughters—treasured trips that created lasting memories. Trips to the casino was a favorite pastime for Norma, she enjoyed the excitement and camaraderie that being there provided.

Staying connected was important to Norma; she maintained close ties with numerous friends through Facebook, always ready to share a kind word or a joyful update. Her warmth and enthusiasm touched everyone who knew her.

Norma Estela Guerra’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her. May her legacy bring comfort to those she leaves behind.
