Orville Ernest Haddock Jr., passed away on February 1, 2026, at the age of 88. He was born in Talco, Texas, to Orville E. Haddock and Ruby E. Caperton Haddock, and was raised in South Dallas. He was brought up in the Baptist faith and attended City Park Grade School and Forest High School, where he was a cheerleader and a member of the state-champion debate team. Though he left school early to work, Orville later earned his GED, completed college coursework online, and attended Tarrant County Junior College to get a degree.
Orville proudly served six years in the United States Marine Corps. He began working at a young age delivering the Dallas Morning News, later working in a downtown Dallas cafeteria before joining W.W. Grainger, where he became the youngest employee to manage his own branch. He eventually opened his own motor company, importing motors from foreign countries, a business he operated until his passing.
Orville shared his life with Jean Haddock, who preceded him in death, and is survived by their only son Jason Haddock. He enjoyed playing poker, especially on Saturday nights with close friends at his home in Fort Worth. He will be remembered for his honesty, self-confidence, empathy, and resilience.
