With a Celebration of Life on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Laurel Land – Rose Hill Memorial Park.
Born on August 8, 1932, in Fort Worth, TX, Patricia was one of two children born to Lloyd Coleman, owner of the Coleman Music Company and prolific session musician, and Captola Coleman, an award-winning cook and travel enthusiast. Patricia’s early days were filled with music, laughter, and the uniquely expressive charm of her immediate family. She attended Polly Elementary School and then Polytechnic High School, developing the personal flair and innate kindness that shaped the rest of her life. She studied at Texas Woman's University and received an associates degree. Patricia found her life’s work as a nurturing matriarch who cared for generations of her family and kept them connected across the decades with the love, dedication, and indefatigable sweetness that she brought to everyone and everything.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Victor Duvall, who she met while he was attending Texas A&M University. They were introduced to one another by his cousin and Patricia’s best friend. It was love at first sight, and they were married shortly after Victor obtained his Masters Degree in Petroleum Engineering.
They spent the nearly 6 decades of their marriage making homes together across multiple states. The first 7 years of their marriage took them to New Orleans, where Vic worked offshore, Patricia infused the local culture into her cooking and style while she passed the time as a bank teller, and they eventually had their first child. Afterward they made Houston their home base, having two more children. Soon they began splitting their time in Ouray, Colorado where Patricia was an avid member of the Woman’s Club of Ouray County. After Vic’s retirement they spent most of their time in Ft. Worth in Patricia’s childhood home, but no matter which house they might be in Patricia filled it with the scents of her cooking, the sparkle of her laughter, the harmonizing hums to the big band music she was raised on, and the warmth of the love she radiated at all times.
She was always willing to listen, whether it be a song, a story, or a problem that needed a sympathetic ear. She was always ready for a laugh or a hug. She loved football, western films, and playing bingo and looked after a variety of wild beasts, including dogs, chickens, ducks, goats, squirrels, chipmunks, deer, ferrets, the occasional skunk, all varieties of migratory birds, and even unruly grandchildren. She left an indelible mark of love, affection. and unquestionable belonging on anyone lucky enough to be in her care. Her legacy will be felt for decades and infused into all the future generations influenced by her kindness.
Patricia is survived by three children, Clayton Duvall, Karen Dollahon, and Leslie Duvall. She was blessed with a total of eight grandchildren: Patrick, Rebecca, Angelique, Brianna, Devon, Wesley, Victor, and Naomi.
The family of Patricia wishes to extend their sincere thanks to her home church, Southwest Presbyterian Church in Bellaire, for their loving support throughout the years, and Constellation Hospice of Texas, who assisted her family in managing her care during the last two weeks of her life. May her memory be a beacon of comfort and love to all who knew her.
