

Patricia Ann Thompson, affectionately known as “Pat” to her close friends, was born on June 4, 1949, to John Thompson and Rosie Thompson. As the eldest child in her family, Patricia’s life took various educational and personal journeys.
Patricia was baptized at a young age at Mt Gilead Baptist Church. During her teenage years, she became a member of Rising Star Baptist Church, where she sang in the Young Adult Choir. She remained a dedicated member until her passing.
After graduating from IM Terrell, Patricia pursued her higher education at Jarvis Christian College, where she became a proud member of the Zeta Phi Beta sorority. Her dedication and academic achievements led her to East Texas State University, where she earned her degree in education.
In August 1981, Patricia embarked on a new chapter of her life by marrying JD Johnson. Together, they built a life filled with love and commitment. Patricia’s passion for education led her to embark on a remarkable 37 year career as a teacher in the Fort Worth Independent School District.
Patricia is survived by her two children, Kelton Johnson (Curtrecia) and Jwuan Johnson (Jazmin), and four siblings: John Thompson (Penella), Steve, Glinda Baker, and Janet Walker (Kenneth). She also has seven grandchildren, including Deneana Hawkins, Taliyah Johnson, Ayana Chatmon, Jamiyah Johnson, Kelsei Johnson, Jwuan Johnson Jr, and Jayzeon Johnson.
Patricia’s life was touched by the love and support of numerous friends and relatives. Her impact on the lives of those around her will be cherished forever.
Patricia is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister, and her brother. Her memory will continue to inspire and uplift all who knew her.
