Phebie Nell Curry was born to the parentage of Joseph, Sr. and Lula Curry on November 5, 1944 in Corsicana, Texas. The family moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 1950 and united with the Ebenezer Baptist Church under Pastor W. M. Dixon. Phebie accepted Jesus as her Savior at an early age and worked in various ministries and held various positions throughout the years. She was the Nursery Sunday School Teacher, worked within the Youth Department, Usher Board, Youth Choir and the Women of Vision Mission Ministry, just to name a few. Phebie attended Dunbar and Rosedale Park (renamed t M.M. Walton) Elementaries and became an alumni of Paul Laurence Dunbar High School Class of 1962. After graduating, she attended Tarrant County College and received several associate degrees. In 1969, Phebie began her career with the United States Postal Service and after 37 years of service, she retired in 2006. During her postal career she attended Texas Wesleyan University and graduated with her BBA in 1978. Phebie LOVED to travel and play games with love ones. Preceding her in death, parents, Joseph, Sr. and Lula Curry; four brothers, Joseph, Jr., Floyd, Sammie and Weldon; two sisters, Jeannette Curry Brown and Betty Curry Criss; special niece, Linda Curry along with three other nieces and other extended family members.
Leaving here on Earth to remember her love and beautiful memories; only son, Byron Curry; two grandchildren, Damion Ashton Shaw-Curry and Kyla Nashell Curry; four sisters, Jessie, Hazel, Shirley and Clayetta: two brothers, Arthur and Charles (Glenda); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
