Phyllip was born in Norfolk Virginia to parents, Charles and Patricia Blunt. He was one of four children, sharing “the middle child” title with his twin sister, Phyllis. They grew up in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Phyllip joined the United States Marine Corps and served our country for 9 years before being honorably discharged due to disability. In 2007, he moved to the Fort Worth area from California with Christie.
Phyllip will be dearly remember for the way his smile and laughter lit up a room. His friendly demeanor and outgoing personality will always be cherished in the memories of those blessed to have known him. You could almost always find Phyllip at a sporting event, whether it was one of his, bowling, playing football, basketball, or softball or supporting his daughter at her sporting events. Phyllip had known his beloved wife, Christie, for over 20 years. They were married for a beautiful two and a half years, until his untimely passing. Those blessed to have shared in his life’s journey will dearly miss a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Christie; children, Jamari Blunt, Destiny Blunt, Ky’ron Wiggins, and Crystal Blunt; parents, Charles Blunt and Patricia Blunt; twin sister, Phyllis Fox; and sisters, Carla Blunt and Stephanie Blunt, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. He also shared a special bond with his wife’s family and was considered a son, brother and a wonderful Uncle.
