Richard married Eva Jo Addison on June 25, 1958.
Coming from modest means, Richard started working at the age of eight. After marrying Jo, they worked to put him through college, and he graduated from Texas Christian University with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration in May of 1964.
In November of 1968, Richard purchased the charter for Citizens National Mortgage Corporation, which he grew into one of the leading residential mortgage companies in Fort Worth. He also formed and ran two other successful companies - REG Realty and Glover Insurance Agency. In addition, he held a real estate appraisal license for many years.
Richard used Citizens National to help countless families realize their dream of owning a home. A champion of the underdog, he worked tirelessly to make that dream a reality for people who might not have been able to achieve it without his expertise and help. He also mentored many people on to successful careers in the real estate industry.
Richard served terms as president and as vice president of the Mortgage Bankers Association of Fort Worth and received a number of honors over the years within the real estate industry. He was also a longtime member of the Texas Christian University Alumni Association.
In 1967, he earned his Solo Flight Certificate from the Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association. He eventually earned his pilot's license, which he held for many years. For a time, he owned a Cesna airplane dubbed by the family as Suzie.
Richard was part-owner of 2020 Horse of the Year Authentic, who won that year's Kentucky Derby and Breeders' Cup Classic and was named Champion Three-Year-Old Male. He was also part-owner of 2024 Preakness Stakes winner Seize the Grey.
Richard was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, cousin, and friend. He gave generously to those he loved. He enjoyed traveling, gambling, and spending time with loved ones.
Richard is survived by his wife, Jo, daughter, Jana Cocanougher; sons Richard Glover Jr. and Jeffrey Glover; daughter-in-law Stephanie Glover; son-in-laws Stuart Cocanougher and Vernon Renegar Jr.; and grandchildren McKynna Cocanougher, Greyson Cocanougher, Hayden Willis, and Madeline Willis; and nephew Gregg Glover and nieces Melinda Gay and Lindsey Dollahite and their children.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Fred; and his granddaughter, Keely Faith Cocanougher.
