Life began in Fort Worth. Bob arrived on October 18, 1942 alongside his twin brother Richard. Born to the late Cullum Etheridge Greene and Leah Jean Kermickel Greene, he grew up near TCU. As a boy, he delivered newspapers, notably the Fort Worth Star Telegram. He graduated from Paschal High School in 1961. Two years into his college journey, he joined the Navy and completed a four-year enlistment that took him to Spain. Afterwards, he resumed his studies at Texas Wesleyan College. A pretty girl named Kathleen Roberson caught his eye and stole his heart. They married on June 20, 1970 and stayed true to their vows.
Bob graduated from TWC in 1970. He started out selling suits at John L. Ashe. His desire for independence pushed him to open his own print shop in the 80s and later earn his real estate license. His many interests included boats, cars, and writing. He wrote screenplays and was working on a novel at the time of his passing. Bob was a longtime member of Wedgwood Baptist Church in Fort Worth, TX.
He is preceded in death by two brothers and a sister, Ray Greene, Cullum Greene, Jr., and Betty Hazen.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Kathy Greene; daughter, Sherilyn Jean Matthews (Chris) of Houston, TX; son, Robert Scott Greene of Fort Worth; two grandchildren, Zachary Matthews and Chloe Greene; and one brother, Richard Greene (Debbie). He also leaves behind several loving nieces and nephews.
