

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert “Bob” Tallon, who left us on April 21st, 2025, at the age of 98. He was a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend. His presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Born on November 10th, 1926, in Lancaster, England, He was the child of Robert Tallon Sr. and Frances Hothersol, who immigrated to Canada in 1928. Throughout Bob’s life, he joined the Toronto Scottish Regiment MG 2nd Battalion and served for two and a half years in Toronto. He then spent the next two years in the Royal Canadian Navy training in Montreal. He earned his mechanical engineering certificate in 1964 and used those skills throughout the duration of his life.
In 1948, Bob met a bookkeeper named Irene Palmer who was also from England, they later married in 1949. They later moved to Fort Worth, Texas with their two beautiful daughters in 1953. Their third beautiful daughter was later born in Texas. His daughter Patricia would go on to serve in the US Air Force, Kathleen became a registered nurse, and Sheri went on to go into the accounting field.
Bob was also known for being an avid archer and bow hunter, enjoying competing in multiple archery tournaments. He belonged to the Mid-Cities Stamp Club and Cowtown Archery Club. He also was a founding member of The Panther City Archery Club. During his later years he taught archery to high schoolers in the Arlington area.
Bob never met a stranger and as a result was constantly surrounded by numerous friends. His travels had taken him to England multiple times, New Zealand, Australia, Alaska, Mexico, a Caribbean cruise, the Great Barrier Reef, and another cruise that brought him through the Baltic Sea, northern Europe, and Russia. He had a great passion for reading history books which directly tied to his advocation of collecting stamps since 1935. He also had very strong feelings on Women’s Issues due to him having a very loving mother, wife and three daughters.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Frances Tallon, wife; Irene Tallon, and his sister, Jean Tallon Reid.
Bob is survived with deep sorrow by his daughters; Patricia Laviana, Kathleen Wendt, and Sheri Hughes, Grandchildren; Emily Sweet, Jay Wendt, Daniel Cody Hughes, Great-grandchildren; Madeline Sweet, Archer Sweet, and Kayson Hughes, longtime Companion; Glen Nita Stagner, along with many other loving family members.
The family invites you to a Memorial service to honor Mr. Tallon’s life on May 16th, 2025, from 6-8PM at Laurel Land Funeral Homes' Chapel of Chimes. The family deeply appreciates the outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. Bob’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
