Robert John Zamboni

Robert (Bob) John Zamboni, a cherished son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, left us on June 11, 2024, in Arlington, Texas. His departure reunites him with his beloved parents, brother, and a host of relatives and friends who have passed before him.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, to Joseph (Joe) and Lena Gambino Zamboni, Bob was a beacon of dedication and passion. He excelled at Parks College of St. Louis University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering in just three years—a testament to his strong work ethic and love for aviation and design. His career took him to Fort Worth, Texas, where he made significant contributions to General Dynamics and Lockheed Martin, and his work allowed him to explore the world, with memorable trips to Egypt and Israel.

Bob’s zest for life was evident in his younger years as he enjoyed tennis, coached little league, and shared his love for water skiing with family and friends. His later years were filled with pride for his children’s and grandchildren’s accomplishments, a love for puzzles and games, and a talent for drawing. Christmas held a special place in his heart, as he reveled in the joy of the season and the delight of gift-giving.

A lifelong Catholic, Bob found solace and community at St. Bartholomew’s Catholic Church in Fort Worth and later at St. Joseph’s in Arlington. His faith was a cornerstone of his life.

Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lena, and his brother, James (Jim), Bob’s legacy lives on through his family. He is lovingly remembered by his former wife, Carol Murphy; his children, Lisa Morris (Rob), Joseph (Joe) Zamboni (Jennifer), and John Zamboni (Tracy); and his eleven adored grandchildren, Austin Morris (Taylor), Haley Morris, Ryan Zamboni (Sophia), Parker Zamboni, Jordan Zamboni, Matthew, Colin, Michael, Katherine (Katie), Andrew, and Luke Zamboni.

Bob’s life was a journey of love, learning, and legacy. As we bid farewell, we celebrate the indelible mark he left on our hearts and the world.
