She met her life long love, Walter Ray Binion, in Fort Worth as a young teenager. He was in the Navy and swept her off her feet. They married on May 15, 1954, couple of months shy of her 17th birthday. They lived the first few years of their marriage in San Diego where Walter was stationed at Camp Pendleton.
In 1957, Walter was honorably discharged from the service and they headed back to Fort Worth, TX. Soon after, she was busy with a new baby and life continued with a second child 10 years later. Ann was a wonderful and loving homemaker with many talents. She enjoyed decorating and re-decorating (especially painting things different colors). We used to tease Walter not to stand still for too long or he would get a fresh coat of paint! She loved crafts (especially counted cross stitch), and cooking. Her sewing talents amazed all as she made most of her own and her daughter’s clothes growing up and took great joy in the creativity. This tradition continued for her granddaughter, Rachel, who enjoyed all the wonderful creations coming off the sewing machine. A trip to the cloth store was always an adventure.Besides all of this her most favorite thing to do was travel. She and Walter traveled all over the USA on bus trips exploring all the wonders of each state. When they would come home from one trip she was already looking forward to her next adventure!
Ann was the best of grandmas and was loving to all she met. She loved serving in the church with the children and youth including kids camps and even a Colorado camping trip with the youth. There were several years where she ran the church library with her friend Gloria. It was a fun endeavor and included a week in Glorieta, NM for library week there; that was a great trip for her. She enjoyed helping anyone who
came down to read and check out the resources. She loved deeply and was beloved by all who met her with her sweet smile and servant’s heart.
Ann is survived by her husband of 71 years Walter Binion in Everman, her daughter Laura Weisbrod and her husband Kim in Fort Worth, son Michael Binion and his wife Terri in Lexington, SC, her granddaughter Rachel Palmer and her husband Karl in Buderim, Queensland, Australia. Also her sister Paulette Davis and her husband Larry in Pittsburg, TX as well as her youngest sister Neva in the Granbury area as well as several beloved nieces and nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Bruce Brewer and sister Debbi Travis.
