Stephen Douglas Meador was born on August 13th, 1947 in Fort Worth, Texas, to Alva and Mildred Meador. He entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior peacefully on Thursday August 21st, 2025 in North Richland Hills, Texas.
Stephen was the first of two sons to Alva and Mildred Meador. He graduated from Eastern Hills High School in Fort Worth, before attending Tarrant County Jr. College. In 1969 he enlisted into the U.S. Navy, where he served until 1975, primarily performing maintenance on F-14 Tomcats. Upon his return, he worked at DFW Airport until he began working for his father at Texas Aluminum Foundry in 1976. He worked there alongside his brother Paul, eventually becoming co-owners in 1995. He then held the title of President until his retirement in 2019. Stephen attended Christian Center of Fort Worth beginning in 1989 until his passing, serving as a Deacon and an Elder.
Stephen enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, spending quality time laughing and sharing stories with those he loved. In his free time, he loved spending time in the outdoors, whether it be tent camping, RVing, or driving down old trails in his Jeep risking life and limb to see what’s around the next turn. There are many stories of him hiking to abandoned mines and exploring caves for old relics and getting lost in the process. He loved a good deal and scouring garage sales where he would search for rare and unique finds to add to his collection. Stephen was very competitive and enjoyed playing Scrabble or other card games with his wife and friends.
Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, Alva and Mildred Meador.
Stephen is survived by his wife of 35 years, Nelda Meador; daughter, Stephanie Woods (husband, Joel Woods); son, Brandon Meador (wife, Heather Meador); son, Shawn Meador (wife, Angie Meador); daughter, Alana Hartog (husband, Troy Hartog); stepsons, David Beshear (wife, Janet Beshear) and Dennis Beshear (wife, Tammy Beshear); brother, Paul Meador (wife, Leslie Meador); grandchildren, Mackenzie and Avery Woods; William Meador; Grant, Cole (wife, Emily), and Tyler Meador; Dred and Devin Barr; Brice and Britt Beshear; Hunter Beshear; Kaleigh Shaw (husband, Zach); and numerous great grandchildren.
