Talmage Hardy Thomas Jr.

Talmage Hardy Thomas, Jr., age 77, of Mansfield, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025. Hardy was born on November 1, 1947, in Pine, Mississippi, to the late Talmage Hardy Thomas, Sr. and Mary Jane Thomas.

A lifelong learner and accomplished professional, Hardy earned dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in French and Mathematics from the University of Texas at Arlington, and later obtained his law degree from Texas Wesleyan University. His drive for excellence shaped a fulfilling career as both a talented programmer and a respected attorney.

On January 1, 1981, Hardy married the love of his life, Linda Ann Kennedy, in Arlington, Texas. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with laughter, partnership, and adventure. Hardy was known for his sharp mind, kind heart, and unwavering devotion to his family.

Outside of his professional life, Hardy was an avid tennis player who cherished the thrill of competition and the friendships that came from it. He also had a deep love of travel, exploring the world with a sense of curiosity and appreciation for life’s many experiences.

Hardy is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Talmage Hardy Thomas, Sr. and Mary Jane Thomas. He is survived by his devoted wife, Linda; his son, Dan Stacy; his grandson, Steven Stacy; his brother, John Thomas, and sister-in-law, Lily Thomas; his nephew, John David Thomas; his nephew, Brian Croom and wife, Laraine Croom; and a host of other nephews, nieces, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Hardy’s life during visitation on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Laurel Land Funeral Home of Fort Worth, 7100 Crowley Road, Fort Worth, TX 76134. A funeral service will follow on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the same location.

Hardy Thomas will be remembered for his intellect, integrity, humor, and the deep love he had for his family and friends. His legacy will live on in the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
