It is with deep sorrow and great love that we mourn the passing of Thomas (Tom) William Reese, Sr, age 80. He was called home to join our Heavenly Father on January 12, 2022. Failing health took him from the world, but he will remain in our hearts forever.
Tom was a loving husband, father, Papa, Great Papa, brother, uncle, and friend. He was born on October 25, 1941, to Elizabeth and Joseph Reese in Fort Worth, Texas. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Ann and Teresa; brothers, Joseph (Joe) and James (Jim); and son Thomas (Tommy) Reese, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Madelaine (Madi) Reese; son and daughter-in-law, John and Jerrie Reese; son, Kenneth Kreiter; daughter and son-in-law, Jacqueline and Robert John; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Lenora and Leo Holtkamp; and nieces and nephews.
Tom grew up in the Fort Worth area with his five siblings. He went to work as a young man and later started in the electrical industry where he remained throughout his career and garnered the respect of many. After marrying Madi in 1976, they lived and raised their family in various locations but spent most of their years in Mansfield until moving to Burleson in 2018.
Tom enjoyed spending time with his family, watching and coaching sports, and camping in various Texas State Parks. He wasn’t a man of too many words yet maintained meaningful conversation with ease. He was honest, genuine, and his sincerity spoke to you through his eyes. He will be missed dearly by those of us left behind, but we take comfort in knowing that he’s at peace.
Tom’s life will be celebrated at the Chapel of Chimes in Laurel Land Memorial Park in Fort Worth, Texas on February 26th, 2022, at 10:00 am.
