Vernon Joseph Seymour

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Vernon Joseph Seymour, who left us on April 17, 2026 at the age of 79. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend and his presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Born on December 14, 1946 in New Orleans, LA, Vernon was the child of Vernon Louis and Emily Seymour. Throughout his life, Vernon was known for selflessly helping others, always having a joke in his pocket ready to share, and hanging out with loved ones. He devoted his time and energy to the Air Force, being a business owner, fishing, playing poker, and scuba diving with family and friends.

Vernon is survived with deep sorrow by wife Cheryl Seymour of 58 years, son Scott Seymour and wife Kristen, son Jeff Seymour and wife Kim, grandchildren, Shelbi Helms and husband Josh, Justin Seymour, Katelan Seymour, Ryan Seymour, Sidney Seymour, Jace Oliver, Aiden Seymour, Riley Labuy, great grandchildren Brazos Helms, Swayzie Helms, Arizona Helms, brother Ricky Seymour and wife Kathy, sister Cindy Pfister, sister Sheri Hale and many more family and friends.

Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon Luis and Emily Seymour.

The family deeply appreciates the outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. Vernon’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
