Senior Master Sergeant Walter Coates, a devoted husband, family man, faithful servant of God, and proud United States Air Force veteran, transitioned from this life and entered eternal rest at the age of 91.
Through decades of honor and excellence, he rose to the esteemed rank of Senior Master Sergeant, serving his country with distinction, discipline, and quiet strength. His military career reflected not only his skill and work ethic, but also his deep commitment to protecting and uplifting those around him.
Walter enjoyed simple pleasures—watching football, cooking, and spending time surrounded by those he loved. His steady presence, positivity, and humor brought comfort to many.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Lenore Coates; three children: Cynthia, Crystal, and Donald; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and a host of loving family members, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
Walter’s legacy is one of honor, service, and unwavering kindness. He lived with purpose, loved deeply, and encouraged others to keep their head up—even in life’s hardest moments.
Though he will be deeply missed, his impact lives on in every life he strengthened and every heart he inspired.
Well done, good and faithful servant.
