

Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at Shannon Rose Hill Chapel. Burial: Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation: 1 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.
She was born in Gainesville on Jan. 5, 1938. She was the youngest of five children born to Marcus and Lucile Lansford. She was born with a sweet singing voice and a love for music. She graduated from Birdville High School in 1955, and held several secretarial and administrative jobs. She met her husband, Wade Findley, while working at Hughes Investments in Houston in 1959. They were married in 1960, and had their only child, Jay Wade Findley, in 1961. Wanda loved music, and enjoyed singing in church and community choirs, as well as solos for weddings, funerals and other events. She enjoyed the friends she made as a member of the Red Hats, and also had many friends at Handley Community Center. Wanda was first and foremost a wonderful mother. She loved cooking and taking care of her family and friends. She looked forward to the annual cousins' reunion that happened every year at various locations around the country. She also enjoyed traveling all over the world with her friends and siblings. Some of the places she visited included Russia, Europe, Alaska and Hawaii, and she also went on several cruises. She had a great love of God, was a member of Messiah Baptist Church in Fort Worth, and was a dedicated Christian her whole life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wade Findley; sister, Marcile Pittman; brother, Theron Lansford; and sister, Mary Anne Taylor.
Survivors: Her son, Jay Wade Findley and wife, Dianne Findley, of Fort Worth; her sister, Anita McCullar of Hurst; granddaughters, Lauren Munoz, Kaitlyn Stamper and Janay Findley; and many extended family members and dear friends.
