Bill was born April 17, 1927, to William M. and Lelar Jane Shannon in Hood County. He married the love of his life, Joyce Beaty, on Feb. 18, 1949, in Fort Worth. Bill served his country proudly in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He was an endowed member of many organizations, including Polytechnic Masonic Lodge #925, Shriners of North America AAONMS, Worth Commandery #19 and was a life member of the American Legion. Most of all, Bill loved his family and spending time with them.
Survivors: Loving wife of 64 years, Joyce Shannon; daughters, Brenda Shannon, Patti Stephens and husband, Mike, and Debbie Rush and husband, Bill; grandsons, Michael Miller, Johnny Rush, William Miller, William Rush and Robert Rush; seven great-grandchildren and another on the way; sister, Ann Copeland and husband, Salty; and many nieces, nephews and other family members.
