Peter and his granddaughter Mia. Born in Brooklyn to Michael and Minnie Friedman, Al was an innovative entrepreneur, restaurateur, and accomplished watercolor artist, who was a lifelong expert trout fisherman, jazz and folk music aficionado, marble sculptor, and avid gardener.
In addition to his girls, Al is survived by nephews Michael and Larry and their wives Ellen and Carol, sister-in-law Emily, and nieces and nephews Suzannah, Nina and Warren; Becky, Jenny, Cathy, and Matthew; Andres and Sofia; and Marietta, Michael and Jan Marie. Al's brother Norman and sister-in-law Connie, brothers-in-law Milt and Allan, and his cousin Norman predeceased him.
