Audrey Knowles Gilman, 82, died peacefully at her home in Naples, FL on Saturday, November 19. Beloved wife of the late Leighton Gilman and mother of Scott (Lakewood, OH) and Gregg (Evanston, IL) and the late Diane Gilman O'Sullivan (Franklin, MA). Cherished and playful grandmother to Tommy, Danny and Patrick Gilman and Michael O'Sullivan. Born in New Haven, CT to Clarence and Ethel Knowles, she lived in Chesire, CT, Stamford, CT, Wellesley, MA, Pepper Pike, OH, Chicago, IL, and finally, Naples, FL and was full of wonderful friends in each. She filled her life with good deeds, great adventures and love and support for her children and her grandchildren and other people's children. She enjoyed sports, especially tennis, reading, travel, playing games, and all of life. A dancer from her early days, she loved taking groups of children to see her beloved ballet The Nutcracker. In her memory, a fund has been established to take more children to see The Nutcracker: The Nutcracker Fund of Naples United Church of Christ, 5200 Crayton Road, Naples, FL 34103
