
Beverly was born on August 29, 1932 in Oneonta the daughter of the late Byron and Bernice (Spafard) Fuller. She married Donald Hughes on July 9, 1949 and they were divorced in December 1978. She later married Raymond Jackson on November 20, 1979 and he predeceased her on July 20, 1993.
Beverly went to work at the Rockdale Creamery in 1963 as a milk weigher, sampler and secretary until they closed in 1967. She later went to work for the Franklin Post Office as a part time clerk. In March of 1987, she was appointed Postmaster, a job she held until retirement in 1992.
Some of her fondest memories were camping and fishing in the Adirondacks with Raymond. She was an avid card and Scrabble player.
After Raymond died, she would spend winters at Colleen’s in a mobile home they had purchased and summers at their place in Franklin.
Beverly is survived by her children, Gary Donald Hughes and wife, Alice, Alan George Hughes and wife, Mona, Yvonne Cleaver and husband, Mike, Jack Rene Hughes and wife, Sheryl Colleen Peggy Smith and husband, Jamie, Karen Patti Bedford and husband, Harold and a step-daughter Angelia Loucks.
She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 12, 2015 in the Ouleout Valley Cemetery in Franklin with Rev. David Rockwell, officiating.
